08/04/2006 - Dallas, TX (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Dallas Mavericks signed free agent forward Pops Mensah-Bonsu on Thursday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Mensah-Bonsu went undrafted in the 2006 NBA Draft and joined the Mavericks summer league team.

He garnered First-Team Atlantic-10 honors last season after he averaged 12.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and a team-high 38 blocked shots. The London, England native ranks second on the school's all-time list with 141 career blocked shots and has shown steady improvement throughout his collegiate career.

He earned Second Team all-conference as a junior, and was voted as the Atlantic-10 Most Improved Player following his sophomore year.
