Wizards' Arenas to spend 30 days in halfway house Fri Mar 26 15:07:00 2010 EST

WASHINGTON (AP) -A judge has ordered suspended Washington Wizards star Gilbert Arenas to spend 30 days in a halfway house on gun charges stemming from a locker-room confrontation with a teammate.

Prosecutors had recommended that Arenas serve three months in jail. Defense attorneys argued Arenas didn't deserve jail time for what they described as a misguided prank on teammate Javaris Crittenton.

Arenas pleaded guilty to violating the city's gun laws in a Dec. 21 incident at Verizon Center.

Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Danny Granger made 12-of-20 shots from the field on his way to 31 points, as the Indiana Pacers handed the free- falling Washington Wizards their 13th straight defeat with a 99-82 victory at Conseco Fieldhouse. The Wizards matched a franchise mark with the loss. Washington had a 13-game skid from March 21-April 13, 1995. The club also lost a team-record 13 in a row from December 17, 1966-January 8, 1967, when the organization was then located in Baltimore. Jo

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -Washington Wizards coach Flip Saunders says Andray Blatche will start against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night after opting not to re-enter Tuesday's game against Charlotte.

Blatche did not return after the first 7 1/2 minutes of the 95-86 overtime loss to the Charlotte Bobcats. Saunders said Blatche didn't want to listen when he tried to talk to the forward about playing better defense. Saunders said Blatche could have played if he had come to speak with him during

Bryant now needs just two more points to move past former Denver star Alex English and into 12th place on the NBA's all-time scoring list. Ron Artest added 16 points and Shannon Brown scored 13 off the bench in Los Angeles' sixth stra

(Sports Network) - While the Indiana Pacers will be shooting for their longest winning streak in four months, the Washington Wizards hope to avoid matching a franchise record for consecutive losses when these two teams square off tonight at Conseco Fieldhouse. Washington has dropped 12 straight contests since an 89-85 road decision over NBA-worst New Jersey on February 28. It's the club's longest stretch of defeats since a 13-game skid from March 21-April 13, 1995. The Wizards also lost a team-

Portland is currently seated in the eighth and final postseason spot in the Western Conference -- just a half-game behind No. 7 San Antonio -- and made it five consecutive wins with Friday's 76-74 home victory versus the Washington Wizards at the Rose Garden. Brandon Roy's leaner from just inside the three- point line with 0.9 seconds lifted the Blazers, as he ended with 14 points on 4-of-18 shooting. Wizards sign Livingston through rest of season Fri Mar 19 15:41:36 2010 EST
